A little background information
Bute Connections has been set up as a social enterprise that has developed from and is running in partnership with Bute Healthy Living Initiative, a community health project that was funded by the Big Lottery Fund and supported by the NHS and the council. The Healthy Living Initiative has run an extensive community health programme, which was well received by the Bute community and some of this work will become integrated with the NHS and Council in one form or another.
Bute connections will build on the experience and insights into the community that the Bute HLI has served and on trust that it has gained over the last 6 years. It is dedicated to improving people’s life chances and reducing inequalities in the community by responding to the need for supportive environments and programmes to support local people to make positive lifestyle changes.
